Family meetings are a big thing with me and my kids!
I don’t really know when I started them but we’ve been having them as long as I remember!
Family meetings are time set aside to promote healthy communication, make decisions, solve problems, and encourage strong family relationships. There are two basic types of family meetings scheduled and informal.
I take family meetings very seriously and I truly think that they are very important.
A scheduled meeting provides an opportunity to get together and discuss family issues, the whole family comes together to talk about an issue that affects every member, Who’s going to do what chore? What should we do during vacation this summer? Talk about a bad something that is upsetting a member of the family or a bad behavior that happened and wasn’t expectable! The entire family works together to answer such questions, and explain behaviors or reactions.
Family meetings should include an open dialogue, allowing everyone to express his or her opinions and respond sensitively to one another. Interrupting, criticizing, and correcting should not be allowed. Openly discussing an issue together shows that everyone’s opinion is valued and that the family is a team.
To be successful, organized meetings should be short and well planned.
With time kids will get used to the family meetings and they will call for one! Seriously that happened with Adam and I was so proud that he called for a family meeting and me, Jenny and him say and talked about a very serious matter that happened and I didn’t know about! I was so proud! So happy that he did 🙂
My kids have exams this week and every morning I stress out a bet and worry on how will they do!
I wanted my kids to know that so I though of sending a MSG to then while in school so when they come back home they can see that I was thinking about them 😉
What are you guys doing this Saturday?
If you don’t have any planes yet you should take the kids and have some family fun at Kuwait’s American School this Saturday, March 29 from 10am to 5pm
Their will be fun games, activities and much more 😉
2KD entrance fee and all proceeds will go towards cancer research.
It’s been forever since me and my kids dad got our divorce and we have come along way since Humdillah!!
It took hard work from me to Seattle things down between me and my Ex at first it was crazy but with time everything started to go smoothly 😉 I had people all around me telling me Amani stop! Give up! And I always said NEVER!!
It was very important to me to have a good relationship with my kids father for the kids sake!! Maybe it’s hard in Kuwait to do so because of traditions and stuff but I didn’t really care and everybody found it really strange that I build that nice relationship with him but it was the right thing to do and healthy for my kids and that’s all what really matters right!! Kids always come first!
We have family days that we all go out together for dinner or lunch and sometimes we all set together and talk and I’m at a point where I can call him to ask anything even if it’s not about the kids 😉
My kids love that me and their dad are cool together and they are happy with no expectations that one day we might get back together! They know that each one of us has a different life style and we still respect one an other and love them very very much 😉
Entry fee was just 1KD
